Enrollment & Tuition

Be Our Guest

Interested in joining the OLV Elementary community? Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a parent can make, so prospective families are invited to see OLV for themselves in two different ways:

Schedule a Guided Tour. A visit can be arranged by contacting the school at 828-9434. A staff member will show guests around the school and invite them to experience the warmth of the OLV community.

Come to Open House. Interested families can see the school's facilities and meet students, faculty and administrators.

Enrollment Forms

OLV's enrollment process is designed to be as easy as possible. The following links lead to the page with all the printable applications that can be downloaded, filled out and returned to the school. Any questions can be addressed by calling the Main Office at 828-9434 or via email by clicking here.

7 Reasons to Attend OLV

While there are many reasons to attend OLV Elementary School, here are some of the most popular...

Small Class Sizes

One of the most appreciated aspects of the OLV Elementary School experience is the caring and nurturing learning environment. Small class sizes allow teachers to really get to know their students - their strengths, weaknesses and needs.

The benefits of such an in-depth, personal approach are many and well known. Youth who seek enrichment activities will find them; those who need a little extra help will receive it, and all students will feel welcomed and cared for.

Religious & Moral Formation

Schools like OLV Elementary School introduce students to Jesus Christ and His teachings, helping them as they grow in their love of themselves and the world around them. As the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has written:

"Catholic schools afford the best opportunity to realize the fourfold purpose of Christian education, namely, to provide an atmosphere in which the Gospel message is proclaimed, community in Christ is experienced, service to our sisters and brothers is the norm, and thanksgiving of God is cultivated."

OLV Elementary provides young people with a caring atmosphere that reflects the types of values that will power a successful, faith-filled life.

Preparation for the Future

A challenging curriculum prepares OLV Elementary students for success in the future. Our alums go on to some of the area's most respected high schools. But their success doesn't stop there - 99% of Catholic high school students graduate from secondary schools while 98% go on to college. Simply put, there aren't too many traditional public or charter schools succeeding at these rates

Caring Teachers & Administrators

At the core of every good school is a compassionate faculty dedicated to the success of its students. At OLV Elementary School this special approach begins with its administrators and trickles down to teachers and members of the school's support staff.

It couldn't have been put any better than by a current parent who recently wrote:

"The staff and teachers at OLV are loving, caring and always willing to go the extra mile for [my daughter]. The teachers understand how to educate and enrich each child while not losing sight of the school's mission: leading each child to Christ."

Affordable Tuition

Many families don't even consider Catholic schools based on a perception that they all cost too much. This is just not the case. OLV Elementary provides one of the region's most affordable and rewarding educational experiences, placing it within the budgets of most families.

In addition, tuition assistance is available on the basis of demonstrated need. Families are encouraged to apply if it is believed their resources are not sufficient to meet the total cost of an OLV education. For more information, contact the school at 828-9434.

Second Language Instruction Begins in Kindergarten

One of the most popular aspects of OLV Elementary School's challenging curriculum begins in kindergarten. All students - grades Pre K-8 - enjoy Spanish language instruction.

Research has proven that such coursework: benefits academic progress in other subjects, narrows achievement gaps, sharpens creative thinking and enhances cognitive development.

Interscholastic Athletics

Dating back decades, OLV Elementary School boasts a long and storied history of success on WNY's fields and courts. Students of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate on any of 13 different teams including basketball, soccer, track and cheerleading.

Taking part can yield a wide variety of benefits that extend beyond health and fitness. Team sports build cooperation and leadership skills as well as provide young people with the opportunity to develop peer relationships and self-confidence. Go Valiants!

What is STREAM?

We want  WNY to know that programming in Catholic Schools is FORWARD THINKING. At Our Lady of Victory we are educating students for their future.  STREAM stands for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics. It inspires teachers to include and develop 21st century instructional strategies at ALL levels so that students take with them the skills necessary to flourish in today's world! In many schools around the nation, you might see STREAM referred to as STEM or STEAM.  STREAM activities are hands-on, project-based and designed to help students gain real world experience. The STREAM Education Initiative encompasses students Pre-K to 8.

For the past  4  years, OLV provided a series of extra-curricular courses, known as STREAM Academy to our students.  This is one phase of the STREAM Ed. Initiative. We've come a long way in making STREAM a way of life for our students.

In May of 2016, OLV applied and received  the honor of becoming a STREAM School. With that declaration, OLV received an initial STREAM grant from the Diocese of Buffalo to kick start its efforts with the promise of mentoring, collaboration, community connections, field experiences, continuing STREAM Academy extra-curriculars and additional funding opportunities over a three year period.

The STREAM Education Initiative is not a new curriculum, but a way to deliver curriculum with 21st century skills in mind and STREAM Education Principles as the foundation. Incremental and sustainable professional development for teachers and the STREAM Coordinator are provided along with programs at the school, throughout the year, to achieve the initiative goals.

STREAM Education Principles

21st Century Learning
  • Exposure and Emphasis in STEM

  • Critical thinking
  • Relevant - Real Life Application and Hands-on Activities

  •  Creativity
  • Children Learn by doing

  •  Collaboration
  • Community Connections with mentors and field experiences

  •  Communication
  • Interdisciplinary - How does content in a subject area relate to another?  Deeper learning takes place.

  • Infusing the Engineering Design Process across all subjects

STREAM emphasizes Best Practices to provide a 21st century education.

How we teach must reflect how students best learn.  It must reflect the world our students will move into.  These continuous improvements and updating of programs reflect excellence in education

During the summer, teachers attended professional development classes and several received kits to use to provide extra-curricular "courses " aligned around the STREAM Principles. On Thursday's , the last part of the school day, the entire school participates in  a STREAM Academy of their choosing.  These courses are fun, engaging, challenging and ungraded.

They are built around engineering and other STREAM principles.  Courses currently are offered  Pre-k to 8 in the first trimester are CSI forensics, Robotics, Primary Engineering, LEGO University, Arcade Academy, Lights Camera Action, OLV Project Runway, Bubbles and others.

This is an exciting time but additional support is needed. Support is needed for:

  • Supplies for  the over-all  STREAM Ed. Initiative and STREAM Academy.
  • An improved science lab for older students
  • The purchase of specialized science kits for all students
  • Funding for buses for Field Experiences
  • Other

If you would like more information or you would like to make a donation to help Our Lady of Victory's  successful  STREAM program you can contact Ms. Theresa Walker , STREAM Coordinator, at 828-9434 or via email at [email protected].
