support the basilica

Each year, approximately 40,000 religious pilgrims and curious visitors pass through the doors of the OLV National Shrine & Basilica. Completed in 1925 and formally dedicated in 1926, this special house of worship serves as Venerable Nelson Baker’s tribute to the inspiration to whom he credited all of his success: the Blessed Mother under the title of Our Lady of Victory.

In August 2021, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the laying of the Basilica’s cornerstone. But that’s just the beginning! Over the next five years, the Centennial Celebration will honor the Shrine’s first century and blaze a bold, vibrant path for the next 100 years!

The years ... and WNY winters ... have left their mark on the Shrine.  The climate has taken its toll on the masonry, the pews have become worn and unprotected, cracks in plasterwork streak across the walls, and the marble floors can't hide the damage done by the passage of countless feet.  Your support is essential to ensuring it remains a sanctuary for those in need of comfort and a source of pride for future generations.
