Referred to as “the Pope’s favorite Nun,” Sister Norma Pimentel is a leading advocate for human dignity and an outspoken supporter of refugees at the U.S.-Mexican border.

She is a Missionary of Jesus and executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. Sister Norma has been featured in newspapers around the world and on programs such as “20/20,“60 Minutes,” and “Face the Nation."  She has been recognized with the following awards:

• University of Notre Dame’s highest honor, the Laetare Medal, in 2018
